Media Manager, The Black Curriculum

I went to Sussex University with the intentions of studying English literature and going on to be a secondary school teacher. However, as I went through my studies, I began to realise that I couldn’t teach a curriculum that I fundamentally didn’t believe in, and that didn’t represent the multicultural Britain we see today. Consequently, I started working for The Black Curriculum a few months ago, managing their social media pages (designing content and organising collaborations) and media enquiries (speaking through various news outlets about TBC, and liasing with influencers who want to help more). Despite never having studied marketing, I thoroughly enjoy being able to observe and facilitate the activism prompted by social media. I believe education is fundamental when confronting issues of race in the UK, and I am thoroughly passionate about playing my part in ensuring that the curriculum is inclusive and diverse for the next generation of leaders to come.
